Every time I paint, I listen to Chopin's Nocturnes for inspiration and concentration. It occurred to me that I should paint his grave in Pere Lachaise Cemetry in Paris. It features the muse of music, Euterpe, weeping over a broken lyre, which was designed and sculpted by Auguste Clesinger.

I visited the famous cemetery in 2019 during my most recent trip to France. This cemetery is so huge that you need a guide or a map to navigate. We hit Jim Morrison's grave first by chance. The air was pungent with the weeds the visitors were inhaling. A fast exit, and after many turns, we finally arrived at the peaceful grave of Chopin with the flowers left by his admirers. It was a moving moment.

The painting size is 10" x 10". Signed on front; varnished. The painting is framed in an antique gold wooden frame and ready to hang for your pleasure. The framed size is 13.5" x 13.5".

Oil on oil-primed Belgian linen on baltic birch panel. The painting is mounted on panel with archival glue. In other words, I have used a top quality material, which guarantees a long-term conservation of the painting.
