The Republic of Venice, officially the Most Serene Republic of Venice and traditionally known as La Serenìssima, was a sovereign state and maritime republic with its capital in Venice. The term "Serenissima" means "the most serene" or the most tranquil". That feeling of serenity, away from the massive tourist crowds, is what I tried to capture in this painting of the view from the corner of St Mark's Square. You can see a bit of the Doge's Palace on the left, the Lion of Venice on the right, and San Giorgio Maggiore across the canal.

The painting size is 10" x 8". Signed on front; varnished. The painting is framed in a beautiful antique gold wooden frame and ready to hang for your pleasure. The framed size is 13.25" x 11.25".

Oil on oil-primed Belgian linen on Baltic birch panel. The painting is mounted on panel with archival glue. In other words, I have used a top quality material, which guarantees a long-term preservation of the painting.
